Topspin recently announced that their new streaming players were now “skinnable” via CSS. Eventually, you will also be able to skin the chrome parts via XML.

I have not dug into this yet, but it looks pretty straightforward, if you understand CSS, and gives you a lot of control over the look of the elements on top of the player.
