The day has finally come, your merchandise purchase buttons can now be shared across the web just like the streaming players and e4m widgets. Yes, seriously. As was mentioned in the April 22 webcast, Topspin Spinshop items now have a copy code feature. This allows any user to copy the code for the whole store or just the particular item and embed it on their site or blog. It is supposed to also work on Facebook as demonstrated by Parker Todd Brooks of Topspin during the webcast, but I have not tested that process.
Here’s a Topspin Spinshop item for the Broken: a Musical DVD for one of our clients. I grabbed the code and pasted it into this post. Go ahead, hover your mouse over the DVD cover. Click the add to cart. Watch the purchase flow take place right in this blog. Pretty slick, huh?

This is great for Topspin artists as they and their tech folks can easily embed their items anywhere and they can have their fans helping extend the artist’s store all over the web without lifting a finger.
